Caltrans District 1 announced a free large item dump day in Klamath scheduled for Sunday, February 27, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. The dump day event is part of the Clean California initiative and a collaboration with the County of Del Norte Solid Waste Management Authority, the Yurok tribe, and Recology.Residents in the area are encouraged to bring their large, bulky items to the Klamath Transfer Station at Klamath Beach Road. Accepted items include furniture, appliances, tires, and mattresses. All items must be empty.
