On Wednesday, December 9, I was walking my doggie on one of the trails off of Point St. George by the airport, when I observed a woman ducking down behind my car and walking down the street yelling. I thought little of it until I tried to drive away and found that, without any provocation at all, she had stabbed my back left tire.It cost $222 to replace the tire, and insurance won't cover that with the deductible. Do we need park rangers to patrol that area so that ordinary citizens can feel safe on our beautiful beaches? This woman was back there the very next day, I observed, perched on her bluff like it was all hers and no one else allowed as I observed from afar.I filed a police report, of course, but to what effect? If someone is displaying a hostile wrath toward the public at random, should not they be "picked up"? I have been told previously by a dispatcher that if people are just yelling at each other or at the air that it's not a threat...well I beg to differ. I believe this is a small enough community that these few individuals could very well be remanded to a behavior health unit and get some help. Some of them do real damage to property and well being.
