Simpson Family Fund- Green Diamond Resource Company are pleased to announce the award of a $50,000 grant to Food For People. The grant is to assist with rebuilding their facility that was damaged last year.“This is an organization that has consistently served the needs of our community and went the extra mile during the worst of the COVID crisis to help people. We are glad to be able to help them out in their time of need”, said Green Diamond Vice President and General Manager Jason Carlson.A February 2020 sewer inundation caused Food for People’s aging facility to go from over-crowded and usable to uninhabitable. Due to the extent of the damage, Food for People determined that proceeding with a rebuild was the most cost-effective approach to providing the community with consistent access to nutritious foods. The new building will provide much-needed expansion of space, and be flexible to meet future needs. Maximizing food storage capacity is a top priority. The space has been designed with future needs in mind.
