My name is Ryan and I am a senior attending Del Norte High School. Tobacco industries target juveniles by using marketing strategies including advertisements of tobacco and nicotine products, using vibrant colors and unique flavors and putting these products in easily accessible spots.Also, pharmacies shouldn’t sell tobacco products because it is misleading for places that promote health to sell these products that are harmful. The strategies these companies use make me feel very sad and upset because children, like me and my peers, are vulnerable and are at risk of falling into a vicious cycle of addiction.I believe that it is important for teens to avoid smoking and vaping because it is harmful and they do not realize the long term effects of smoking.
