The Northern California Community Blood Bank recently celebrated the significant milestone of 70 years serving Humboldt and Del Norte Counties. To celebrate the milestone, the community was invited to join staff October 6 at the Blood Center located at 2524 Harrison Avenue. Some donors received a commemorative pint glass in celebration of the event. The center was created in 1948 and incorporated in 1951 by physician members of the Humboldt-Del Norte County Medical Society and with financial support of Elks Lodge 652.
