The award winners from this summer’s Art at the Port Exhibition will be displayed in the gallery at Manley Art Center from October 3- 30. There is a Second Saturday Art Walk planned for October 9 from 3-5 p.m. Sixty-four entries in three categories; adults, teens and youth under 12, were displayed on the boardwalk fence from May through mid-September. The paintings all reflect the theme: Wild about the Oregon Coast. A few of these paintings are available for purchase.More than 2,200 People’s Choice ballots were cast. Ribbons and cash People’s Choice awards include: 1st ($100), 2nd ($50) and 3rd Place ($25) in each of the age categories. Additionally, five local sponsors offered a ribbon and a $100 award for the painting of their choice from any age category. Sponsors include: Oregon South Coast Fishermen, Fred Meyer, Pelican Bay Arts Association, Curry Equipment Company and the Brookings Harbor Port Commissioners. This year’s sponsored awards include paintings from all three age categories. All entries must be presented on identical 16” X 24” panels that are prepared by Pelican Bay Arts Association. Registration for the 2022 show begins the first week of March and takes place at Wright’s Custom Framing on Chetco Avenue in Brookings. A $10 registration fee includes a pre-primed art panel and an entry form.
