It’s with sad hearts to announce Marilyn “Mickie” Gonzales was called to Heaven on January 6th, 2021. She passed peacefully at home. She joins her mother, brother, sisters, family and her beloved pets. She missed them dearly. Our mother left behind a lifetime of spirit, strength, courage and wisdom, all of which will live on through her daughters Sarana (Jeff) Bales of Mary Esther, FL; Summer Moore of Reno, NV; Kimberly (Ron) Huyck of Fairfield, CA and Sunny (Dennis) Valero of Crescent City, CA. She also leaves behind grandchildren Christopher, Joshua, Tyson, Trenton, Ronnie, Dylan and Bailee; and great grandchildren Valo, Olivia, Josie, Nora and Ava Rose. She is also survived by her sister Virginia Martinez of Fairfield, CA and ex-husband Ruben Gonzales who was her caregiver in the later years of her life.Our mother taught us how to be warriors for what we believe in and to make sure our nails and hair looked good while doing it. There are no words for how much you will be missed. Our faith tells us this is not goodbye. Until we see each other again mom, we love you.We would like to send out a special Thank You to Crescent City Fire and Rescue; whom over the course of our mother’s illness answered many calls to her home. She loved and respected all of you.A Celebration of Life will be held May 1st in Crescent City, CA, 12 p.m. at Bethel Christian Center, 651 J Street.
