William “Bill” Harpell passed away on February 14, 2021, at his home in Azalea, Oregon. His battle with cancer during the past year, showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile and wicked sense of humor. Despite his condition, Bill stayed strong until the end, reflecting on a life filled with hard work, worldwide travel, numerous adventures, and no regrets. Known as a self made man. He built a multi-million dollar industrial construction company from the ground up. His specialty was relocating sawmill sorting systems and construction of co-gen power plants. Work took him throughout the country and abroad. Bill retired early, living out his lifelong dream of sailing the seas in his private sailboat and living abroad during the winter and spending summers in Oregon with his wife and best friend, Joyce.Bill is survived by his wife Joyce, daughter Suzanne Harpell-Smedley, grandchildren Ashton Smedley, Maddison Smedley, and Casey Nuszkiewicz, and lifelong friend, Eileen Harpell.Private services will be held at a later date.
