Marlin was born in Crescent City to the late Manuel and Helen Silva of Fort Dick. A USAF veteran, he especially treasured his assignment to Manston AFB near London UK in the ‘50’s where he made many friends in the AF, and among locals. After his discharge, he became a stockbroker in L.A., but - aside from his family - his real passions were antique and classic motorcycles and cars, genealogy, history, politics, travel, baseball, classic films, and cable news. He loved visiting family and friends in Crescent City and enjoyed DNHS Class of ‘53 reunions. He passed away in Torrance, CA after a brief illness. He is survived and mourned by wife Susan, daughters Maria Froelich, Melinda Aquino, and Meredith Silva, 9 grandchildren, and 1 great grandchild.Conducted in Crescent City by Wiers Mortuary on September 28, 2020 with Mass at St. Joseph Catholic Church and burial in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
