Elias Amezcua was sworn in as a Del Norte Sheriff’s Office Deputy Oct. 2 by Sheriff Erik Apperson.Amezcua is a graduate of the College of the Siskiyous Law Enforcement Academy.Growing up in Weed, California, Amezcua had early ambitions of pursuing a career in the medical field. He even served as a certified nursing assistant for several years.
