Several arrested, cited in alcohol sales sting

Several adults were arrested and one sales clerk cited during an undercover alcohol sting Sept. 19 in Crescent City.The Crescent City Police Department worked with an agent from the California Department of Alcohol Beverage Control Sept. 19 to conduct a “minor decoy” and “shoulder tap” operation.Crescent City Police Chief Richard Griffen wrote on the department’s Facebook page during the operation, CCPD utilized an underage decoy to attempt purchases from Discount Liquor, Wayside Liquor, Y Liquor and the Shell Gas Station. The minor decoy had valid identification with their actual date of birth.The only establishment that sold to the decoy was Discount Liquor at 1010 9th Street. One arrest was made at each location during this operation when an adult was asked to purchase alcohol for the minor and then completed the transaction.
