The Del Norte Association for Cultural Awareness, Ink People Center for the Arts and Trinity County Arts Council have announced a program called FAR (Funds for Artists’ Resilience), which is a new initiative made possible by a grant from the COVID-19 Regional Response Fund of the Humboldt Area Foundation and Wild Rivers Community Foundation. FAR encourages proposals for imaginative multimedia artworks that reflect the distinctive attributes of this region, and the unique challenges community members are facing in these times. This project will fund the creation of public artworks in Del Norte, Humboldt and Trinity counties with the themes of “equity” and “resilience.” Proposed artworks and events must be accessible to the public, provide opportunities for engagement with the community, and/or be a bridge for uniting diverse populations. Possible approaches include: poetry, music, performance, painting, murals, audio/visual production, and community engagement/social customs. All media are eligible. Awards will be made in two categories: #placement_573654_0_i{width:100%;max-width:550px;margin:0 auto;}var rnd = window.rnd || Math.floor(Math.random()*10e6);var pid573654 = window.pid573654 || rnd;var plc573654 = window.plc573654 || 0;var abkw = window.abkw || '';var absrc = 'https://ads.empowerlocal.co/adserve/;ID=181918;size=0x0;setID=573654;type=js;sw='+screen.width+';sh='+screen.height+';spr='+window.devicePixelRatio+';kw='+abkw+';pid='+pid573654+';place='+(plc573654++)+';rnd='+rnd+';click=CLICK_MACRO_PLACEHOLDER';var _absrc = absrc.split("type=js"); absrc = _absrc[0] + 'type=js;referrer=' + encodeURIComponent(document.location.href) + _absrc[1];document.write('');• Category 1: (Individual) This category is for solo applicants. Maximum funds available per project: $1,000. • Category 2: (Collaboration) This category is for teams. Proposals in this category should provide an opportunity for community members’ direct involvement and collaboration as part of the creative process. Maximum funding amount: $5,000. For more information, please attend a Zoom session at 1 p.m. on Friday Sept. 4. The meeting will be recorded if you cannot attend at that time.
