Here on earth we can send human beings into outer space to the moon in relative comfort but we can't send displaced human beings to shelter here on earth in relative comfort. Here in Crescent City we can send men to shelter in relative comfort, but we can't send women to shelter in relative comfort except to Harrington House if they fled from an abusive husband or male partner. However, here in Crescent City, where is there shelter in relative comfort if a woman fled from an abusive manager, landlord, apartment employee's behavior and verbal assaults and neighbors? The renter's statements are true. I am a 75-year-old female with disabilities which prevent me from defending myself in a court hearing. I tried and cried. So, I gave notice to move before I could get an eviction notice so I could avoid future rejection for an apartment. But the application has an "automatic" rejection list the former manager will claim, that is not true! I have nowhere to go! I previously was advised by Harrington House to talk to a Deputy Sheriff. The Deputy advised me to take out a restraining order on the apartment manager for threatening to evict me if I complained again about a noisy neighbor and the behavior of a maintenance employee.
