More than half of Del County households have responded to mailed requests from the United States Census Bureau to provide information for the 2020 Census. The latest data through June 11, showed that Del Norte County's self-response rate was 55.2% compared to 62.4% for California as a whole and 61.4% for the entire United States. The Census Bureau hoped to reduce the number of in-person contacts to conduct the 2020 Census by sending mail to homes, advising occupants to self-report census data online. #placement_573654_0_i{width:100%;max-width:550px;margin:0 auto;}var rnd = window.rnd || Math.floor(Math.random()*10e6);var pid573654 = window.pid573654 || rnd;var plc573654 = window.plc573654 || 0;var abkw = window.abkw || '';var absrc = 'https://ads.empowerlocal.co/adserve/;ID=181918;size=0x0;setID=573654;type=js;sw='+screen.width+';sh='+screen.height+';spr='+window.devicePixelRatio+';kw='+abkw+';pid='+pid573654+';place='+(plc573654++)+';rnd='+rnd+';click=CLICK_MACRO_PLACEHOLDER';var _absrc = absrc.split("type=js"); absrc = _absrc[0] + 'type=js;referrer=' + encodeURIComponent(document.location.href) + _absrc[1];document.write('');As required by the U.S. Constitution, the once-a-decade census must count every person living in the United States. Census data are the basis for the democratic system of government, ensuring that representation in government is equally distributed. Census results shape the future of communities, as census data informs how billions of dollars in federal funds are distributed for health clinics, school lunch programs, disaster recovery initiatives and other critical programs and services for the next 10 years. The Census Bureau strongly encourages the public to respond online at 2020census.gov. Households can respond online in English or 12 other languages or by phone. Households can also respond by mail using the paper questionnaire. More information is available online at 2020census.gov. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('ad-1515727'); });
