At 2:30 p.m., April 13, the Crescent City Police Department was dispatched to the Smoke Shop, 450 U.S. Highway 101 North, for a report of a theft.Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office deputies also assisted with the response. During the investigation, CCPD officers learned the suspect became upset after a purchase transaction was declined. The suspect, Jaden Green, 20, made a purchase earlier in the day at the Smoke Shop and returned to make another purchase when his credit card was declined.Green then allegedly threatened the store clerk and reached behind the counter to steal a box of merchandise.
