The Del Norte County Tax Collector’s Office reminds taxpayers that the second installment of the 2019-20 property taxes is still due by April 10 and has not been extended during the COVID-19 pandemic.As of March 25, the Tax Collector’s Office will be closed to the public for over-the-counter tax payments.“The health and safety of our citizens and employees is my primary concern during this COVID-19 crisis. As such, I am asking all taxpayers to make their tax payment by mail, online or by phone if possible,” Barbara Lopez Del Norte County Tax Collector wrote on the county website.Lopez said the Tax Collector has no legal authority to extend the due date.
