Ray Allen Brown left our world to join our Heavenly Father on February 18th, 2020.Ray was born at home to Leonard and Edna in Ontario, Oregon on December 8th, 1936. the oldest of 5 sons, Ray became an anchor to the family.Growing up, Rayโs parents moved the family several time in the Pacific Northwest depending on where his fatherโs work took them, finally settling in Klamath, California. At a picnic at Elks Ranch in 1957 in Klamath, Ray met the love of his life Darlys Lloyd from Eureka, California. For an entire year, Ray made the trip from Klamath to Eureka every weekend to see Darlys. They married a year later on May 31st, 1958 in Eureka.In June of 1959, Ray and Darlys welcomed their firstborn son Ronald (Ron), with Gary following in 1963. In 1964, the family moved to Redding, California for a job at Hawkey Trucking. In 1967 their youngest child Sandra was born. Fremont was their next destination in 1969 where they eventually opened a diesel repair shop, Fremont Diesel Service. In 1983, Ray, Darlys, Gary, and Sandra returned to Redding where Ray and Darlys later opened, and ran, Golden Years Elder Care from 1988 to 1999.Strong in faith, Ray and Darlys attended Bethel, Destiny Christian Fellowship and most recently Faith Tabernacle Assembly. A God-fearing man, his faith and family were the most important to him. He welcomed everyone with a firm handshake and open arms. Nobody gave hugs like Ray did. An avid hunter and fisherman, Ray loved sharing his love for both, and he limited out more often than not. Ray partook in many trap shoots at the Redding Gun Club, and won many that he competed in.Ray is preceded in death by his parents; Leonard and Edna, along with a brother Kenny. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Darlys, sons: Ronald (Brenda) of Portland, Oregon, Gary (Colleen) of Dickinson, North Dakota, and a Daughter Sandra Stevens (Preston) of Shingletown, brothers Mike (Shari) of Salem, Oregon, Dean of Crescent City, California and Stan (Carol) of Medford, Oregon. He is also leaves 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchild, 1 aunt, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.Ray was an example to measure all men by. He will be missed by all that knew him.
