Carolyn Fern Gawer, age 80, passed away peacefully in the early morning surrounded by her family on January 11, 2020. She was born May 25, 1939 in Portland, Oregon to Ivan and Fern Cook (Gleason).Carolyn was married to Richard Gawer on September 18, 1959, and they married for 52 years, he preceded her in death in 2011.She was an OB nurse for 27 years at Sutter Coast Hospital. We often joked that she helped deliver the majority of babies born here. Carolyn was very involved and beloved by the community.She was a loving mother of four children, Colleen Zivney (Ted), Randy, Ron (Nina), Ed (Robin)She was also a grandmother to; Jeff Gawer, MaLisa Seymore, Daniel Zivney, Jennifer Martin, Travis Zivney, Christina Zivney, Andrew Gawer, Stephani Gatten, Haydn Gawer, Aaron Gawer, Ryan Gawer, Jon Gawer, Alex Gawer, “Sam” Gawer.Great-grandmother to; Alana, Amara, Donovan, Joseph, Arianna, Zachary, Alyssa, Tai, Oliver.Visitation will be held at Wier’s Mortuary on Friday, January 17, 2020 from 10:00 am until 4:00 PM with funeral services starting at 4:00 pm.
