Dear Editor: Friday, Jan. 10, was a very wet day, but that did not stop passionate Del Norte Unified School District teachers from standing on the sidewalk nearest the fairgrounds and holding signs that read “Stronger Together.”In solidarity with our fellow educators, my wife and I joined them.When my bone marrow felt the chill, I walked over to Java Hut for some boiling-hot liquid to thaw out my innards. I nodded in the positive, since my lips were frozen together.That was when they barista informed me that the couple who had just walked away prepaid $40 for drinks for the teachers at the protest. This was in addition to a previous customer who prepaid $200.At that point, I did not need any coffee, because my heart melted.
