Once the Christmas festivities have passed, people start to take down those colored lights, holiday decor and trees. But what to do with that retired Christmas tree? Del Norte County residents who opted for a live tree this Christmas can recycle it at the Del Norte County Transfer Station, 1700 State St. in Crescent City, through Jan. 31. There’s no cost to do so, said Del Norte Solid Waste Management Authority director Tedd Ward during a solid waste meeting Dec. 17. #placement_573654_0_i{width:100%;max-width:550px;margin:0 auto;}var rnd = window.rnd || Math.floor(Math.random()*10e6);var pid573654 = window.pid573654 || rnd;var plc573654 = window.plc573654 || 0;var abkw = window.abkw || '';var absrc = 'https://ads.empowerlocal.co/adserve/;ID=181918;size=0x0;setID=573654;type=js;sw='+screen.width+';sh='+screen.height+';spr='+window.devicePixelRatio+';kw='+abkw+';pid='+pid573654+';place='+(plc573654++)+';rnd='+rnd+';click=CLICK_MACRO_PLACEHOLDER';var _absrc = absrc.split("type=js"); absrc = _absrc[0] + 'type=js;referrer=' + encodeURIComponent(document.location.href) + _absrc[1];document.write('');The agency does request that all tinsel and ornaments be removed from the trees before they’re recycled. As for flocked trees, a spokesperson said that if the Christmas tree looks more white than green, it won’t be accepted. The Del Norte County Transfer Station will be closed on New Year’s Day, Jan. 1. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('ad-1515727'); });
