A child playing with a lighter sparked a structure fire Tuesday on Railroad Street in Brookings, according to investigators.Shortly after 8:30 a.m., Brookings Fire and Rescue Department crews were dispatched to a closet fire in a bedroom at 322 Railroad St. The first arriving unit reported smoke showing.All of the occupants and family pets had fled the house, said Brookings Fire and RescueOperations Chief James Watson.Firefighters entered the building and quickly extinguished the fire, said officials.
