On February 20th, Brian Keith Johnson, 63, passed away at his childhood home surrounded by his loving family. Brian was born in Crescent City to Donald and Loretta (Anderson) Johnson and lived nearly his entire life here. He graduated from Del Norte High School in 1973.Forty three years ago (1976), Brian married Cynthia Ann Snyder and together they raised two sons, Brandon (Tawni) and Andrew (Courtney), Brian’s siblings, Linda, Curtis (Lois), and Traci, had the privilege of having him as their big brother - their most ardent protector and, at time, their biggest tormentor, as big brothers are inclined to be.He was uncle to five nephews and one niece, and great uncle to two nieces and four nephews. Via his marriage to Cynthia, Brian gained mother-in-law, Sharon Yeoman, Fathers-in-law James Snyder and Gerry Yeoman, three sisters: Kandi (Dick) Powell, Jeri Ann Evans (Scott) Scherer, and Marci (Greg) Pirolo and their families,.In addition, he was “Pa” to many of Brandon and Andrew’s friends, including adopted daughter Jennifer Lampley. His extended family includes many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, out-laws, and friends. While Brian looked fierce, our gentle giant had a loving heart and a soft spot for children and his tractor... He loved working on the family farm and taking his family hunting, fishing, camping, quad riding and vacationing at National Parks.In 1976, Brain started working at the old Seaside Hospital, the hospital in which he was born. That job turned into a career of more than 40 years at Sutter Coast Hospital. For many of those years, he was facilities manager.
