Catherine, daughter of W Parks and Evangeline Walker passed quietly in Portland, Oregon amidst her family. She was born July 31, 1951 on the island of Guam in the Marianas Islands. She attended schools in the Portland area.She married Samuel Strait in April of 1972. They had three children, Ian Strait in 1977, Heather Kirk in 1981, and Erin Strait in 1985. She has two grandsons, William Kirk and Carson Kirk.After a brief sojourn with her husband to Bloomington, Indiana, Catherine spent her remaining years in Crescent City and was employed by the Department of Health and Human Services for Del Norte County until she retired in 2017.Catherine enjoyed many years traveling with her husband, she was an avid card maker, and pursued a number of other craft making endeavors through out her life.Surviving are her husband Samuel, her two sons Ian and Erin, her daughter Heather and husband Bryant Kirk, as well as two grandsons William and Carson Kirk.There are many others in the community who cared deeply for Catherine, Cathi to all who knew her, and will cherish the time that they had with her. She wished for no formal memorial on her passing.
