Mrs. Kathleen “Kay” June Notvedt, age 95, of Crescent City, passed away October 5, 2019, at her residence. She was born June 17, 1924, in Akron, Ohio. Kay was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Glen Notvedt. Kay was raised in Corpus Christi TX, moving to the Bay Area of California after marrying Glen in 1956. For years Kay managed the Duck Club at the Pittsburg CA Marina. Her grandchildren have many fond memories of adventures boating to Browns Island. Kay’s grandchildren marvel at the stories of her growing up on a horse ranch in Texas and riding her own motorcycle. Kay devoted herself to her husband Glen; they both shared a love of horses and boarded horses on their property after retiring in Crescent City in 1992. Kay will be remembered for her strength and moxie. She continued to drive and live in her home with her much loved dogs, Odie and Tammy until she passed away. Survivors include a son, John R. Bacon and daughter-in-law Carolyn Bacon, of Crescent City; two grandsons and one granddaughter, John Bacon and April of Omaha NE, Patrick Bacon of Coos Bay OR, and Bonnie Bacon of Mesa AZ; six great-grandchildren, (John) Trace and wife Hannah, (Patrick) Morgan, Jessica and her husband Charlie, Venetra, and Nikayla, (Bonnie) Michael and his wife Tianna; and three beautiful great-great children, Beau, Jed, and Felicity.
