The City of Crescent City hosted two meetings Oct. 14 for residents to vote for their preferred Beachfront Park renovations and new projects. Given passage of California Proposition 68, a $4.1-million bond for state and local park renovations, city officials have been gathering community feedback regarding local residents’ favored Beachfront Park projects. The city is set to receive at least $200,000 in an initial wave of funding. #placement_573654_0_i{width:100%;max-width:550px;margin:0 auto;}var rnd = window.rnd || Math.floor(Math.random()*10e6);var pid573654 = window.pid573654 || rnd;var plc573654 = window.plc573654 || 0;var abkw = window.abkw || '';var absrc = 'https://ads.empowerlocal.co/adserve/;ID=181918;size=0x0;setID=573654;type=js;sw='+screen.width+';sh='+screen.height+';spr='+window.devicePixelRatio+';kw='+abkw+';pid='+pid573654+';place='+(plc573654++)+';rnd='+rnd+';click=CLICK_MACRO_PLACEHOLDER';var _absrc = absrc.split("type=js"); absrc = _absrc[0] + 'type=js;referrer=' + encodeURIComponent(document.location.href) + _absrc[1];document.write('');The city already had hosted two meetings to hear suggestions for using the funds. The projects presented at the Oct. 14 meeting were taken from suggestions made previously. Only those that fit within the $200,000 range were voted on. The projects included a labyrinth, botanical garden, expansion of Kid’s Town, pump track, volleyball courts, disc golf renovations, a bank-shot basketball court, splash pads, and an interpretive cultural center. “I think people are excited about it,” said Holly Wendt, the city’s director of recreation. “Community engagement is super important.” googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('ad-1515727'); });
