CHP, Gasquet Fire Department, Del Norte Search and Rescue, CalTrans - Idlewild and the Del Norte Ambulance reported to the scene on mile marker 24 to find two males with fatal injuries. After a preliminary investigation, it appears the truck was traveling north on 199 and ran off the road crashing into a tree. The cause of the crash is still unknown, but there was no foul play involved, according the Brandy Gonzalez, CHP public information officer.
