… Time for us all to be more watchful as we drive through town, because there will be lots of kids present in the streets with the new school year. Excited at seeing friends they may have not seen for those weeks of summer vacation, they could well not be paying attention to traffic like they should – and that means it’s up to us to keep an extra ear and eye out to keep them safe.There’s no back-to-school excitement at my house anymore. Even the grandkids are all grown and gone, some of them parents themselves. Even my great-grands are now starting school, though all in other states.I am continually reminded how time flies. The hours are 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. Who knows what treasures you might find? Why not check it out!“Reclaim Your Worth” is a program being presented by a group of local churches at the cultural center 9:45 a.m.-5:45 p.m. With limited seating, you might want to make sure space is available, but it sounds like a really good program.Hiouchi Community Fellowship, Cornerstone Assembly of God, Foursquare Church, Faith Christian Center, Bethel Christian Center, and Pacific Light Church are collaborating for this one.I think it’s really special when our churches get together to do things – not only does it make for good fellowship, but people get to know and understand each other so much better despite differing church memberships.Tomorrow is a very special day at the Nazarene church.When I was growing up in New York state, in addition to Mother’s and Father’s Days we had a Children’s Day. At the Nazarene church tomorrow, “Kid’s Day” will be a day focused on the children present.
