Dear Editor: First, I would just like to say how much fun it has been watching this newspaper come alive over the last few weeks. I am enjoying the stories, layout, fonts, photographs and all the colors. Thank you all so much! Your hard work shows.I am a new resident to our gorgeous village of Gasquet as of February. Having lived in Reno for the previous eight years, I just can’t seem to get enough of all these magnificent trees!But I grew up in New England. Oh, how I love a good museum! And that’s what I want to tell you about today!For today, I visited the Del Norte Historical Society Museum. Amazing! It is truly quite impressive. Each display thoughtfully arranged and identified.Hundreds of photos of earlier times, intermixed with exhibits, took me back through the history of Del Norte County’s unique culture. And then brought it all to life for me.I am nearly through reading a history of Del Norte County as well. The museum helped me bring it all together. And I couldn’t resist the temptation of another book I found for sale inside the Del Norte Historical Society Museum.I’ll have to go back for another look one day soon, as there are more exhibits than I expected. And I’m sure I’ll need another book as well.Their display of books and gifts for sale is also impressive. I even purchased a cross-stitch to do of the Battery Point Lighthouse.But I just wanted to say that it’s a truly wonderful museum, with so much to tell.
