Lawrence John Koll of Crescent City, California passed away on Monday July 15 th at the age of 98. Born February 26th, 1921 in Newark, New Jersey he grew up a child of the Great Depression. He was a Tool and die maker by trade and worked for many companies including Kaiser Steel, and Hewlett-Packard.After retirement Larry moved to Sparks, Nevada with his large family to enjoy sunshine, golf, and fishing In the Truckee River. His love of fishing brought him to Crescent City “where the fishin was good!” It was there that he met his second wife Claire. They were married November 26th, 2005. and could be found swimming together in the blue waters of the Fred Endert Memorial Pool where he was known as “the nicest man you’ve ever met”. Larry was a beloved member of the Methodist Church in Crescent City.Larry is survived by his devoted wife Claire Koll of Crescent City, his son Larry F. Koll and spouse Linda of Montana, son Jess P. Koll and spouse Nadine of Willits, California, son Kenneth S. Koll and spouse Jeane of Wilseyville, California, son Michael D. Koll and spouse Nancy of Wilseyville, California, and Claire’s children Daniel Kropp of Sacramento, Edward Kropp of Corvallis, Colette Chadwick of Sacramento, Patricia Hritz of Hayward, California, Teresa Kropp of Orangevale, California and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.Larry was preceded in death by his first wife Regina Barbara Koll and their daughter Barbara A. Tomm and son Scott D. Koll.A viewing will be held Saturday July 20th, 2019 from one to two o’clock at Wier’s Mortuary Chapel located at 408 G Street in Crescent City, California. Larry will be laid to rest Wednesday July 24th, 2019 at 11:00 A.M at Mountain View Cemetery in Kingman, Arizona.
