William E. Mayes passed away surrounded by family on July 6, 2019. He was born on March 3, 1931 in Kirby, Oregon to parents Walter and Iva Mayes. As a young man, he joined the Marine Corps and served in the Korean War. William was married to Mary Ann Silva on October 3, 1950 in Crescent City and began a family soon after. Together they had four daughters and one son.William was a man of few words, but when he did speak, he’d often joke and smile and his smile would light up a room. He was a great man; very patient, hard working and kind. William was a loving husband and an amazing father and grandfather. His passion was to be outside working in his yard.William is survived by his daughters Marcia Fagan, Peggy Dusenbury, Angela Nelson, son Travis Mayes. He also leaves behind his 11 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. William will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
