In the July 6 issue of The Pilot, numerous photos were published of Fourth of July celebrations in Brookings. On the page containing many of those photos was a story about Gold Beach’s celebrations, which were taking place at the same time as those in Brookings. The juxtaposition of the story and photos made it appear the photos were taken in Gold Beach, which they were not.
