In 2016 he served on the Santa Rosa City Council and then as Mayor from December 2020 – 2022. He replaced Jim Wood as Assemblyman. Wood announced his retirement in November 2024. Rogers is a Democrat and known for these stances: Universal free health care Universal basic income for low income families Proponent of policy responses on climate change Proponent of public transportation It sounds to me like the taxpaying public will probably be tapped more than wanted. Remember the slogan, "I never met a tax I didn't like." Will he be in favor of the billion dollar boondoggle known as the high speed bullet train?
