By Donna Westfall – May 28, 2022 It's going to be a beautiful weekend with some rain, but not much. Come Monday, it's going to reach a high of 57 and a low of 47. The sun should be shinning and we'll have some wind. Memorial Day is held on the last Monday in May, Memorial Day is a public holiday in the United States. It commemorates those in the country's armed forces who died in the line of duty. Schools and many businesses are closed including government offices. Monday, May 30 starting at 10 am: There will be a ceremony at the Veteran's Cemetary, followed by soup and salad at the VFW, 810 H St. Hosted by Post 1381. 2 pm. There will be a reading of the names of our Military Service members who gave their all held at the Point of Honor on the "S" Curve. Short ceremony. Bring a chair if you can't stand for 15 minutes.
