By Roger Gitlin – EYE ON DEL NORTE – May 23, 2022 It is with great respect and anticipation retired Crescent City Lieutenant Garrett Scott is appointed interim Sheriff for Del Norte County, Tuesday, May 24 in the Board of Supervisors Chambers. The swearing in ceremony is at 1pm. The public is invited to attend and observe this event for imminently elected Lt. Scott, June 7 and its ultimate certified election by the elections clerk. Scott will serve the balance of Eric Apperson's term before beginning his own term effective January 3, 2023. I'd also take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank Acting Sheriff Daniel Schneck, support staff and the dedicated deputies who serve with the highest level of pride. THANK YOU.
