The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Crescent City Times.com By Patrick Parsons โ€“ January 27, 2026 The Democrats in Congress are at it again. DO NOT believe for one second that they'll ever protect your rights. They've just have introduced H.R. 7166, a dangerous bill that would effectively ban the online sale of ammunition nationwide โ€” making it harder, more expensive, and in some cases nearly impossible for law-abiding Americans to exercise their Second Amendment rights. Letโ€™s be clear: This is not about โ€œsafety.โ€ This is about control. By cutting off online ammunition sales, Washington elites want to choke off access for millions of gun owners, especially those in rural areas, seniors, veterans, and working families who rely on online purchasing to afford ammunition. If H.R. 7166 becomes law, it will: Drive up ammunition prices Limit access for lawful gun owners Set the stage for even broader national gun and ammo bans The American Firearms Association is mobilizing to stop this bill โ€” but we need your help right now. Weโ€™re organizing a nationwide grassroots response to: Activate millions of gun owners Pressure key members of Congress Fund hard-hitting communications and rapid response campaigns Expose the truth about this backdoor ammunition ban Please chip in today to help us fight back against H.R. 7166 and stop a national ammunition ban before itโ€™s too late. Every dollar helps us reach more gun owners, strengthen our advocacy, and defend your rights. The anti-gun Left is counting on silence and apathy. Letโ€™s prove them wrong. Stand with us. Fight back. Defend the Second Amendment. Patrick Parsons, Executive Vice President American Firearms Association
