By Roger Gitlin β EYE ON DEL NORTE β April 11, 2022 In an effort to be as accurate as possible, I erred when I reported on candidate Masten FB interview with regard to now-Supervisor Masten's position on two items: * Masten supported and voted YES on County Measure R, the increase in the General Sales Tax to 8.5% (13% increase). Her justification to vote YES was support of local law enforcement. * Masten voted NO on increasing the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) from 8% to 10%. The Board then voted to surrender 20% (2% increase) to the Harbor Commission to retire Tsunami-related debt on a 4-1 vote, Gitlin dissenting.
