Commentary and Opinion by Samuel Strait There are times for awhile now that I find myself continually amazed at what people can be made to believe so fervently that it often resembles a cult like religion. There is no rational to their beliefs, no thought process, not even the slightest hint that what they believe may not even be true. The belief system is held so tightly that no words to the contrary will penetrate that belief system. No clear evidence to dispute this "religion" will ever shine the light of reason to illuminate the mind within. The beliefs are held so securely that clear and compelling evidence to the contrary will not shake the system and allow those that have been led astray for years to change anything about what they believe in… For two years now the people in this Country have been sold a "narrative" that has recently unraveled to the point that it defies logic that anyone remains within the cult of the "true" believers. Educators, some in the Medical Profession, the Media, and our governments continue to offer "words of wisdom" to protect us from something that was never theirs to control. At the highest level of government, our President "on vacation" for much of his time in office continues to wear an N95 mask outside and alone, after the restrictions for mask wearing at the White House have been lifted. From the White House on down the American people are still having fingers waved at them to continue to wear masks for our "safety". I will say this, as I have for the past two years in dozens of articles, in multiple ways, there is NO SCIENCE that supports the idea that masks prevent transmission or prevents infection of ANY VIRUS. THIS WAS WELL KNOWN BEFORE COVID-19 EVER MADE AN APPEARANCE. Since the beginning of the pandemic in 2019, there HAS BEEN NO 'NEW' SCIENCE THAT HAS CHANGED TO WARRANT THE RECENT ELIMINATION OF MASK MANDATES. THEY WERE NEVER NECESSARY IN THE FIRST PLACE AND DID NOTHING TO CHANGE THE TRAJECTORY OF THE PANDEMIC. Recently our Lord and Master, Governor "Hair Gel" Newsom, still refusing to give up his "emergency powers", has developed a series of advisories which came off like the lectures from the Covid Cultist's that constantly preach "we are following the science". He is watching "numbers" which will allow him to begin dictating once again. He so enjoyed his moment of supreme and unconditional power over people's lives that he wishes to remain ready to do it to you all over again at a moments notice. Since the State's vacuous legislators have been unnecessary and irresponsible for two years, they have ground to make up. The State is already in a socialist disaster of growing proportions that Hair Gel is calling "the model of the future" if only the rest of the Country would "follow along". I guess massive homelessness, virus mandates, and crime are three of the many parts of that "model of the future". Like I said at the beginning of this piece, the tone deaf ostriches that make up many in the population of the State remain oblivious to the changing times in America. I don't expect them to wake up any time soon with the likes of Newsom and Biden in office, as we will keep being reminded, that "they have our best interest at heart", or was that "they have their best interests at heart". Simply amazing…..
