As of mid-April 2026, independent journalist and YouTuber Nick Shirley has alleged that he has uncovered over $170 million in fraud within California's daycare and hospice systems. I've contacted Nick Shirley about our own home grown fraud regarding the wastewater treatment plant. California Assembly Bill 2624 (AB 2624), titled "Privacy for immigration support services providers," was introduced in February 2026 by Democratic Assemblymember Mia Bonta of Oakland. The bill aims to protect immigration service providers from harassment by restricting the publication of their personal information. Who is Mia Bonta? She is the wife of our Attorney General Rob Bonta. State Assembly member Carl DeMaio (R-Calif.) criticized those supporting a bill he has dubbed the “Stop Nick Shirley Act,” This bill has sparked debate, with opponents arguing it could limit the ability of citizen journalists to record in public, according to a state press release. NICK SHIRLEY I have a hunch that the longer Nick Shirley and his crew remain in our State, that $170 million will be chicken feed in short order. There is so much fraud, waste and abuse, I predict it will end up being in the billions in short order.
