Opinion Piece By Linda Sutter – October 21, 2021 On Friday October 22, 2021 there is a Citizens Oversight Committee at the School Administration Building on Washington in Crescent City near the High School beginning at 3:00 pm. Chair Lyons who has been secretly meeting with Assistant Superintendent Jeff Napier and who has been conducting the people’s business, taking action behind closed doors, and not placing appropriate agenda items that were discussed and acted upon with other committee members has now made a fatal flaw. His fatal flaw is that he is censoring the public in what they can discuss during public comment by stating in writing on the agenda that you can ONLY discuss items on the Agenda. Mr. Lyons if you cut off or interrupt anyone during public comment the school district will be sued. This action you have taken yet again is a willful and intentional Act against the public who has discovered there was no transparency since 2016, that none of oversight members were properly trained, and that fraud took place between you and Jeff Napier. For those not physically attending the school district meeting on Friday the 22, of October at 3:00 pm you can tune in on zoom through dnusd.org website. Be aware the I T tech will not acknowledge you when you raise your hand. He ignores the public by preventing people from speaking and participating.
