By Kevin Kiley – September 11, 2026 Kamala Harris has announced she’s coming to our district to campaign for our opponent Richard Pan. While NOTUS reports “several Democratic candidates have sought to distance themselves from the former vice president,” Pan is counting on her to prop up his campaign. Yesterday, Pan briefly surfaced for a “meet and greet” with Adam Schiff. At the event, a voter confronted him about refusing all three TV debates. Pan was caught on tape stammering, “Well uh, we have continued to have conversations about that” before his handlers rushed him away. It’s understandable that Pan doesn’t want voters to learn he proposed the most radical COVID mandates in America. Or that he cast the deciding vote more than doubling the gas tax. As I noted on Bloomberg TV, California pays way more for gas than anywhere thanks to Pan’s votes. Meanwhile, our opposition to the $1.2 billion “renovation” of the State Capitol has been vindicated again. The state is spending millions on special stonework done in Italy for the lawmakers’ offices. It’s now “one of the most expensive buildings in the United States." Elsewhere, I've asked for a DOJ investigation into offshore betting on the Little League World Series and other youth sports. Such bets are even being made on individual players, with the potential for exploitation and harassment of young kids. It simply can't continue. And we’ve officially submitted a letter calling on Newsom to reject the Energy Commission's new mandate banning 70 percent of tires. Forcing Californians to pay hundreds of dollars more for tires – and to replace them more often – is the last thing our state needs. The basic theme: when the state tries to ban your car or tires without even a vote of the Legislature, despite overwhelming public opposition, democracy is not working as it should.
