By Donna Westfall – September 28, 2026 His name is Paul V. Scholl and he sounds wonderful. He is the owner of Messenger Publishing Group that covers Northern California. Currrently has over 20 community newspapers. If you look him up you'll learn that he has more than 40 years of experience in the publishing and newspaper management industry and has a habit of picking up dying newspapers. One more thing. He purchased the printing company in Samoa, Western Web Inc. which will be printing the newpaper each week. I subscribed to the Triplicate when Dan and Phyllis Schafer purchased it and watched it closely for the past year. With their web site prescence on Facebook (Triplicate.com), today I learned about the new owner. For those of you that still enjoy holding a newspaper in your hands and enjoying a copy of coffee or tea, I think we're in for a real surprise. The newspaper will become bigger and better due to Paul School's experience plus he's retaining the current contributors and writers. For those of us that enjoy our time spent on the internet, having an on-line version of the newspaper is just the ticket. Linda Sutter, currently running for Harbor Commissioner, has been an investigative reporter for our Crescent City Times for years and also starting writing articles this past year for the Triplicate. I expect she'll still be on staff at the Triplicate with Paul Scholl at the helm. So, stay tuned. There's bound to be great strides at the Triplicate and as Linda Sutter says,"More news later."
