August 10, 2021 An hour ago, Gov. Cuomo announced he intends to resign in two weeks. This as the result of 11 reports of sexual harassment. His resignation will save the state from a lengthy impeachment trial. Stepping into the Governor slot will be Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul She will be the first female governor in the history of the State. What's interesting is that Cuomo denies any wrongdoing despite Attorney General Leticia James's report. Also interesting are the following prominent Democrats that called for him to step down: Sens. Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand, as well as Reps. Jerry Nadler and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, called for Cuomo to step down in March. Following James’s report, that number grew to include President Biden, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, along with a number of union leaders and the New York Times editorial board. Those wanting to see California Gov. Newsom out of office wish he would save the State money by resigning.
