ATF Director Steve Dettlelbach RESIGNS This is a HUGE win! —————————————- UPDATE on Abolishing the ATF: – January 2, 2025 In 2012 the Center for American Progress (CAP), a left-leaning think-tank, made recommendations that the ATF should be absorbed by the FBI so as to streamline federal firearm enforcement. In 2014, Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-WI), member of the Judiciary Committee and chairman of the Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security Subcommittee submitted legislation to dissolve the ATF. In 2017, he reintroduced The ATF Elimination Act that would merge it's duties into other agencies. In January 2023, Rep Matt Gaetz (FL-01) introduced the “Abolish the ATF Act” of 2023 to eliminate the ATF. If this passes under Trumps presidency, taxpayers should see a reduction, and duplication should be eliminated. It's beginning to look a lot like taxpayers may actually see some benefits really soon.
