By Donna Westfall – February 19, 2019 – Emiley Hughes was reported missing by her grandmother in December, 2018. Her mother reported on February 2nd that she was alive and well and with a boyfriend in Eureka, but the Sheriff's Department still considered her missing since they had not spoken with her directly. It wasn't until February 14th, that a family member went inside her home and noticed a suspicious odor. Del Norte County Sheriff's office was then able to obtain a warrant and enter the home where they found a body. It had been dead for several weeks. Two days later they were able to identify the body as Emiley Hughes, mother of 3 children. Last night, her estranged husband, Edward "Eddie" Culver Hughes IV, was arrested, booked into jail for murder and held on $1 million bail.
