By Donna Westfall – September 7, 2018 – This morning at the Daily Town Hall Meeting (held six days a week from 6 to 7 am at Fisherman's Restaurant), a discussion took place about principals at our schools. Names were mentioned like Paige Swan who used to be out at Smith River School and made a tremendous differrence in a positive way. He's now at Crescent Elk School. I was wondering what happened to Billy Hartwick after the brouhaha some months ago with parents demanding Superintendent Jeff Harris, step down. Hartwick is not on the list. Jeff Harris is still Superintendent. If you have any questions, the staff at Del Norte County Schools is very responsive. Also, the School Board members are very responsive. Both Jamie Forkner and Angela Greenough are running for re-election and invite your inquiries. One big question they brought up, "How to get more parents involved in their children's education?"
