WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – April 25, 2018 The Cape Fear Public Utilities Authority issued an alert Wednesday morning that residents who get their water from the Richardson Nano Groundwater Treatment Plant in northern New Hanover County should not drink the water. Officials say that the water at the plant was tested and shows an overabundance of fluoride. Customers should not use the water for drinking or cooking until further notice. Drinking the water could result in illness.
