Credit to Karen Harner, Administrator for Del Norte County local news and events – December 18, 2017 – Finally we will be receiving some rain after 2 weeks of very dry weather conditions. A cold front will approach from the northwest on Tuesday and light rain may start as early as Tuesday afternoon, especially for Del Norte and northern Humboldt counties. The bulk of the rain will arrive Tuesday night and then turn to showers by Wednesday morning. This is a fairly cold storm and snow levels will rapidly fall late Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. A few inches of snow will be possible for the mountain passes above 2500 feet early Wednesday morning.
