City of Crescent City – January 20, 2017 – FREE WORKSHOP There is change in the air. 2017 brings new labor laws for small business owners. Small Business Development Center (SBDC), Business Advisor, Traci Fansler, will be highlighting these changes and how that relates to you. She will discuss the new minimum wage requirements, what it means with California's marijuana legalization, changes to parental leave, as well as the paid sick time, exempt versus nonexempt employees and restroom accommodation changes. The workshop will also highlight the common labor laws we should all be practicing like overtime and breaks, unlawful termination, payroll deductions,workplace safety and discrimination.
