Credit to Calgary Metr – September 13, 2016 – Calgary City Councillors have rejected a motion to gather new information about fluoride in a 9-5 vote. One councillor sees it as a matter of mass dosing. Says, Coun. Jim Stephenson, β€œI don’t believe 50 percent of the population have the right to force medication on the other 50 per cent.” Another wasn't convinced it does more good than harm. Although the information would be gathered at no cost to the city, due to an offer from the O’Brien Institute for Public Health to do the research, the motion was rejected. Calgary's population stands at over 1.2 million.
