By Linda Sutter – January 22, 2016 – Joey Young’s trial for allegedly engaging in sex with an underage minor, begins on February 8, 2016 in Department 1 at 9 a.m. In an opposition to dismiss three counts, Assistant District Attorney, Katie Micks, disclosed the following text messages that were sent to the victim by Joey Young. Please keep in mind the first text was sent directly from Mr. Young’s office while working for Del Norte County, in the County Human Resources Department. “Yes sir, I’m in my office as we speak although I’d much rather be in bed next to you.” Paid for by the taxpayers of Del Norte County. The people also introduced a string of text messages as exhibit 1 that were intercepted by the defendant’s wife, Jennifer Young. In those messages, the defendant and the victim text about oral sex and ejaculation. The trial is expected to last 3 days.
